On behalf of the CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association, we want to thank you for an amazing season! It has been our absolute pleasure to work with your talented, dedicated kids this year.
We loved witnessing the growth of our young athletes over the summer. Their skills improved tremendously, and it was extremely rewarding to watch them gain confidence at the plate and in the field. But more importantly, we saw them blossom in terms of teamwork, sportsmanship, and character.
We know how much time, energy and support you as parents/guardians contributed so they could succeed. We truly could not have done it without you. From getting them to practices and games to cheering them on - thank you for being part of the Raiders family!
We are already looking ahead to next season. Have a wonderful off-season. See you on the diamond in the spring!
Save the date for our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 21, 2024 at 7:30PM This year's meeting will be held at the Kiwanis Club of Kelligrews (925 Conception Bay Highway).
We strongly encourage all members to attend this important event. The AGM provides the opportunity for our association to come together and help shape the future of our program.
On the agenda are voting on constitutional amendments, electing new board members, discussing program feedback, and announcing plans for next season. We want to hear your voices on the direction you think the CBS Kiwanis Minor Baseball Association should take in the years ahead.
Hope to see you there!
As part of the AGM agenda, we review and vote on proposed amendments to our Constitution & Bylaws.
If you have suggestions for changes or additions to our governing constitution, now is the time to bring them forward! We are accepting proposed amendments through October 11, 2024.
You can submit your proposals via the online form on our website at https://forms.office.com/r/qXuMG9CtuD. The executive board will review all submissions and prepare proposed amendments for voting at the AGM.
This is an important opportunity to shape the rules that guide our association.
Part of the business at this year’s AGM will be the election and installation of new executive board members.
Positions open for nomination (2-year terms) include the following:
Positions open for nomination (1-year term) include the following:
Should you wish to run for a position on the board but can not be there in person to accept the nomination you can submit an email prior to the AGM to [email protected] stating that if nominated at the AGM you would accept. You must specify what positions you would accept a nomination for. This allows a member to run for a position on the board who can't be in attendance in person to accept nomination due to work, sick, out of town etc.
Optional for anyone planning on running for a position. If you wish to submit 1 or 2 paragraphs on why you are seeking a role on the board you may send this to [email protected] on or before October 11, 2024. All submissions would then be sent out to members. You do not need to do this to run for a position. This is being done to allow members to introduce themselves and why the members in attendance should consider them for their vote.
Note: to be considered for a board position you would still have to be nominated at the meeting.
Only association members in good standing will be permitted to attend and to vote. As per section 5. Membership of the Constitution & Bylaws: 5.1. The membership shall include all parents and legal guardians of a registered player(s), in good standing, represent one voting member per family. A registered player is someone who was officially registered, including fees paid in full in the year of the AGM.
As per our Constitution & Bylaws, while both parents are welcome to attend the AGM, only one vote can be cast per family, and voting by proxy is not permitted.
Sincerely,
CBS Kiwanis MBA Executive
